This 4th of July I ran the Haddon Heights Firecracker 5K Run. Going for a personal record. I started the day off with many challenges and will discuss them throughout this blog.

I choose this race because it is in the same month as the 5k Run 4U event we are hosting and I want to stay in 5k race competition and improve my time. My current PR from the Adrenaline Run was proved by 19 seconds. Whoot Whoot’ Go Leelee ! I completed today’s race with a finish time of 35:24
I wrote my last PR on my hand as a reminder to keep it moving!

RACE CHALLENGES
First, I didn’t get a good nights sleep. I was up excited for the race till about 2 o’clock in the morning. I arrived early for registration pick up of my bid and realized I didn’t have my earphones for my iPod. NO MUSIC OH NO! I sang to myself enjoyed the scenic route and stayed focus on getting to the finishline. I even got in some prayer time too. Running ready allows you to think about things and clear your mind. Especially when you have listening to music.

The weather was very humid and I felt like I was melting as I was drenched in sweat. There was a spectator out with the waterhose. that was refreshing! Another challenge I face was this was my first race without any music. The run was through the local community town which was awesome because it was a scenic route for me. And a road I’ve never travel or ran before.
Last challenge was that I forgot to stop the Garmin again. I have to get better at that.
